No and no. First of all, NEVER run your bike with the battery disconnected. Your voltage regulator requires a battery (even a dead one) to be in the system so that it regulates properly. If you remove the battery with the engine running, the regulator stops regulating and sends over 90 volts into your poor bike.

And the Honda doesn't like mud at all. Even on slow and I mean slow. Sorry back on track; I started the bike after a few weeks and found the battery dead. I took off all the cables etc to get to the battery via the seat. In the manual, it says just lift out! Well, sadly the battery doesn't lift out and I can't see how its anchored.
